Trendy Asian Cuisine in San Francisco
I was searching for a post on http://www.mapplr.com/2009/02/12/heavens-dog-san-francisco/ Asian ethnic cuisine and how that is a new trend for 2010. Ethnic foods are hot because they are very flavorful and in many cases very good for you. As we know beer and other beverages like hard cider are very popular right now and many of these Ethnic cuisine goes real well with beer and cider. This might be another reason for the sudden interest in Ethnic food. It seems that people nowadays are looking for more intensity and flavor to their food as well as their beverages, so it seems ethnic food has finally found itself in the culinary scene in this new year. Being foreign and my cuisine being considered ethnic this creates lots of opportunities for me as a chef to use my roots when cooking. Maybe be more bold with my cooking and technique. This is good stuff guys!!

ReplyDeleteI think this is a trend that will stick. I really enjoy Asian ethnic food. I totally agree that people want more intensity and flavor to their food. People seem willing to try anything now a days and be adventurous. People should always be willing to try foods from other countries. I agree with you that this definitely gives you more opportunities as a chef and can provide stuff to kitchens that other chefs can't who aren't familiar with ethnic cooking.
ReplyDeleteI personally am willing to try almost any food. I love different ethnic foods I find them much more interesting than our everyday comfort food (which is always good as well). Sometimes you need to spice it up a bit and try new things. Ethnic flavors are suprising and unusual, that is what I love about them. I thought it was funny when the author of this article commented on their policy to call back for reservations. I would find that a bit annoying too if they called back, twice.
